London, United Kingdom, 5th February 2015 – IMImobile, a global technology company providing software and services which help businesses capitalise on the growth in mobile communications, today announced that it has been shortlisted for the 2015 Global Mobile Award. The Kleek, a pan-African Universal Music Group streaming service, is nominated for ‘Best Mobile Music App’ of the year.

The Global Mobile Awards, hosted by the GSMA, are the most competitive awards across the mobile industry and will honour more than 40 winners across nine categories. Over 300 independent experts, analysts, journalists and academics judged the awards and selected more than 270 nominees.
The Kleek, an innovative radio music streaming app, designed by BBH and developed by IMImobile, enables smartphone users across Africa to stream curated playlists directly to their mobile phone. The Android-based app offers more than just music, allowing users to access artist diaries, news, charts, previews, competitions, exclusive previews and much more.
Alex Klose, Head of Marketing at IMImobile commented on the award nomination: “We are very excited to have made it onto the shortlist with our client Universal Music Group. Over the past 20 years, the Global Mobile Awards has been recognising outstanding achievements and innovation across the mobile industry.”

“The nomination is a testament to the innovative concept of the app, which connects millions of fans across Africa to a tailored music experience, including both local and international music content, while allowing artists to reach a wider pan-African audience. The Kleek truly is bringing mobile music to Africa,” he added.

Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA commented: “Congratulations to all the nominees. With a new record of over 800 entries, the competition has been greater than ever – reflecting the dynamic pace of growth and evolution across the mobile world. We look forward to celebrating 20 years of mobile achievement and innovation with all the nominees and winners on Tuesday 3rd March.”
The Global Mobile Awards ceremony will take place at the Mobile World Congress, Tuesday, 3rd March at 2.30 pm in Hall 4, Auditorium 1.
