MWC 2020 is cancelled

“With due regard to the health and safety environment in Barcelona and the host country, the GSMA has cancelled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, which make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event.”

However as discussed in Telemedia Online this week, many of those who were due to attend the conference still plan to go out to Barcelona and will attend an unofficial MWC. Are you one of them, and if so what are your plans?

Next-generation energy switching management, with Bounce – from Global and Ideavate

Global, the Media & Entertainment Group have launched an innovative energy switching and management service, under the new brand Bounce, with the service built and operated by technology business Ideavate.

Bounce is a white label version of Ideavate’s Energy Switching Solution, and provides first to market capabilities in a number of ways, all designed to make the consumer’s life easier:

  • Consumers are able to securely provide access to their current energy account, so that they don’t need to figure out their current tariff and consumption.
  • Consumers are provided with a free energy report, which visually shows the impact of switching on their monthly costs.
  • As well as helping consumers save money right away, they have an unprecedented set of options for managing ongoing switches, so they can overcome the hassle of switching and never overpay in future.
  • Consumers can choose from:
    • Self-service: automatic reminders at the right time to come back to the app and switch
    • Auto-switch: be automatically switched once the criteria are met (amount of savings available, customer service rating, renewable energy source, etc.)
    • One-click switching: receives texts or emails in future with deals which meet their criteria, and upon confirming they wish to go ahead, the switch is automatically undertaken.

SLA Digital named 8th best-performing scale-up technology company in the UK

SLA Digital has been unveiled as one of the best-performing scale-up technology companies in the UK, ranked 8th out of 25 peers at the annual Megabuyte Emerging Stars awards, held in London last week.

The Megabuyte Emerging Stars awards are part of the Megabuyte100 award series which collectively celebrates the 100 best performing technology companies in the UK. The awards recognise the 25 best-performing, scale-up technology companies within the Megabuyte100 winning company universe.

Companies’ performance is determined by their Megabuyte Scorecard rating – a proprietary, and wholly independent, benchmarking methodology that assesses companies’ performance against five key financial KPIs. The rigour of the Megabuyte Scorecard methodology, combined with a specific focus on technology companies, have made Megabuyte’s award series the most influential and authoritative awards in the UK technology sector.
