The PSA is extending the implementation period

Following publication of the PSA’s Statement on introducing new Special conditions for all subscription services, and the new Special conditions for Recurring Donation services, the PSA held an implementation workshop for industry members working in the charity space to raise any implementation-specific queries, ahead of the regulatory changes coming into force on 1 November 2019.

At the workshop it was identified that some charity print and broadcast advertisements that have already been produced for upcoming campaigns may not be compliant with the updated Special conditions for Recurring Donation services.

Following consideration of this issue, the PSA is extending the implementation date for Special conditions RDS6(d) and RDS7(c) for specific providers, which will now come into force on 6 January 2020. The PSA considers that this will enable those providing recurring donation services who intend to use the two-stage Mobile Originating Short Message Service to obtain consumer consent to charge, sufficient time to make the necessary changes to their television and print advertisements to ensure compliance with the new Special conditions. This represents an approximately nine-week extension to the previous implementation date of 1 November 2019.

Changes to the Executive structure at aimm

As announced to aimm members last month, the new aimm Board has decided to change the Executive Team structure to ensure that the diverse needs and the concerns of all of the aimm membership are understood and accurately reflected.

Rory Maguire, after 5 years at the helm of aimm will be stepping back at the end of June to focus on his consultancy business, handing the baton to General Manager Joanna Cox who starts in August.

The aimm Board and the Executive team will be working together to look at the strategy and focus of aimm going forwards, to ensure that all our members continue to feel their voice is heard through their trade association, and aimm continues to support its membership through this period of progression.

We would like to thank Rory for all his hard work during these past years. He has worked tirelessly on important regulatory and business issues which has resulted in improvements and changes across industry, benefiting our members businesses and the wider industry as a whole.

Mobile Life Appoint MCP as Regulatory & Compliance Technology Partner

Mobile Life have today announced the appointment of Monitoring & Compliance Partners (MCP) to act as a Regulatory & Compliance Technology Partner for Mexico effective immediately.

MCP were formed in April 2014 as a result of a joint venture between Etx & Enarpee Services to create a new regulatory services company, offering a suite of products designed to provide peace of mind for the payments industry.

Formed in 1997 by brothers Declan and Brian Pettit, eTX’s core offering is the ‘Touchpoint’ Application Development platform, a hardware/software system that intelligently manages information/events in a real-time environment. This platform comprises proprietary technology which is the result of fifteen years research and development, and which is particularly suited to fast-moving environments. Our products such as Goverifyit, VeriAudits and Veriscanner have all been developed using this platform.

eTX and Enarpee Services join forces to create a new regulatory services company, Monitoring and Compliance Partners Ltd (MCP) and launch three key market support services:

–          GoVerifyit (robust verification of consumer opt-in)

–          VeriAudits (automated testing & monitoring)

–          VeriScanner (affiliate tracking & recording)

eTX and Enarpee Services have joined forces to supply a full suite of regulatory services to, not only the Telecommunications Sector and PRS Industry, but also to other payment sectors. Commenting on their new entity ‘Monitoring and Compliance Partners’ (MCP), Declan Pettit, eTX Managing Director said: “Enarpee Services have years of experience in these markets and have built up not only a fine reputation, but also a network of International connections that we can tap into.
