We now have several members who have stepped forward for a position on the AIME Board.

Voting for the candidates will go live on the 29th February at which point we will then call for members to cast their votes using the link we will provide. You can then cast your vote until the 13th March.

There is still time to put your candidacy forward for consideration if this is of interest to you but nominations will close on the 29th February. Please take the time to read the Board Responsibilities document before submitting your candidacy.

 

Board Elections – Nomination for candidates now open

During February we welcome nominations/candidates for the upcoming vacancies on the AIME Board. Each Board member serves a term of two years each before coming up for election. If you wish to apply we ask that they are accompanied by a Bio, Manifesto and a photograph sent to andrea@aimm.co.

If you would like to submit your candidacy please ensure that you take the time to read the document about Board Responsibilities.

On 28th February, we will close nominations and ask Members to vote over the next two weeks. Election results will be announced on 17th March.

Members will be asked in March to vote for their favourites of all the nominees. Sponsor members get three votes, Executive Members get two votes and Associate Members get one vote.

AIME 2016 Board Elections are starting soon

Time flies when you are having fun and although it only feels like a couple of months since our last Elections it it time to get ready to cast your votes for the AIME Board. We will be confirming the number of places that will be available on the AIME Board and then call for Board submissions.

All Executive and Sponsor members  are able to stand for election for the AIME Board. You will be required to attend the quarterly meetings through the year as well as be actively involved with the work the Executive do.

2015 AIME Board announced

AIME welcomes Ibs Ali of Open Market, Alan Partington of Telecom 2 and Alex Haffner of Dentons to the Board

The Association for Interactive Media and Entertainment –AIME is pleased to announce the addition of three new members, Alan Partington, Ibs Ali and Alex Haffner to its Board of Directors.

AIMEs Board directs and oversees the operation of the Association as well as playing an active role in managing working groups and providing feedback regarding the industry sectors that AIME represents. AIME attempts to ensure that the board represents every vertical market that comprises membership.

Alan Partington from Telecom2 (www.telecom2.net) is a welcome addition to the Board to ensure that AIMEs focus on fixed line services remains strong as the industry enters its most significant transitional period with the introduction of split charging for consumers for calls to non-geographic service number ranges such as 09, 08 and 118. Alan replaces BT stalwart Graham Pottie and was uncontested.

Ibs Ali from Open Market (www.openmarket.com) is the Head of Account Management with responsibility for the commercial and operational delivery of mobile messaging and mobile payments solutions across OpenMarket’s client base. The client base includes AIMEs membership in Charity and Broadcast. Ibs previous experience includes News International, MINICK and Net Mobile and is an active participant in AIMEs working groups.

Alex Haffner from Dentons  (www.dentons.com ) is a Senior Associate at Dentons and has been opted on to the AIME Board to bring in his experience in the Regulatory and Competition Law fields. Alex will also be beneficial for the AIME board for his ability to assist with broader Board level discussions around the evolution of financially regulated micropayment services such as eMoney and Payment Services. Alex brings with him broad experience in the areas that AIME operates and his expertise in competition law relates to AIMEs strength in putting competitors together to examine common issues or opportunities

Chairman Edward Boddington stated today “We have a superb board with represented expertise from across the membership covering Broadcast, Mobile, Fixed line, Service Provision and Digital services promotion. These new Board Members, help us to complete the picture, replacing other board members that we have sadly lost due to changing roles. I am very excited to be working with Alex, Ibs and Alan to strengthen AIME as a valuable and important trade association for the interactive media and entertainment industries.

PhonepayPlus appoints new Board Members and Director of Policy & External relations

PhonepayPlus, today announced the appointments of Steve Ricketts and Kevin Brown to the Board, and senior Civil Servant Simon Towler as its new Director of Policy and External Relations.

Steve Ricketts joins the PhonepayPlus Board as an Industry Member and brings a great deal of relevant knowledge and experience to the role. Founding his consulting business ATAO (UK) Limited in 2011, he has advised a number of high profile organisations on payment services and mobile strategy. Prior to this, he spent over five years at Orange / EE where he was Head of Mobile Commerce and Marketing Services and has sat on major industry boards and initiatives, including the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), the GSM Association Mobile Media Metrics, Payforit and the Direct Marketing Association Mobile Council.

Kevin Brown joins the Board as a non-Industry Member. He is currently a senior advisor with KPMG, providing insights into the payment market place globally. He has recently joined the new Payment Services Regulator Advisory Panel as a special industry advisor. He holds a non-executive Chairman position with RBS (Lux) SA, an independent cross border fund management service backed by RBS. Prior to this, he spent a long successful career in banking with Royal Bank of Scotland / NatWest, with his final role being MD for Global Transaction Services.

Simon Towler joins PhonepayPlus as Director of Policy and External Relations from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport where he held senior positions, most recently leading on telecommunications regulation, spectrum policy and facilitating the rollout of communications networks. He was head of the UK delegation to the World Conference on International Telecommunications in December 2012 and was also responsible for the DCMS programme that led to the auction of spectrum for 4G mobile broadband services by Ofcom in February 2013. Prior to this, he was with the Department of Trade and Industry, holding various policy posts in civil aerospace, international trade policy, nuclear issues, and better regulation. He also spent four years in the United States on secondment to the British Embassy in Washington DC.

 

AIME Executive and Board Members will be meeting with these new appointees in the new year to welcome them and to establish good working relationships from the onset.
