AIME members may be aware that services billed to the telecom bill are currently exempt from banking regulations through a specific exemption in the Payment Services Directive. The exemption is currently subject to review by the EU Parliament.
AIME identified issues with the initial draft in September 13, which were communicated, through UK Treasury, to the EU Commission. The EU has now produced a revised exemption.
