AIME Guidance on Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014

This Guidance Document is designed to provide AIME members with useful information regarding the distance sale of digital goods and services under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013

To provide further clarity around the provision of “durable contracts” and around the use of wording on payment buttons that may be considered to be ambiguous, AIME has updated this document in October 2015.

The interpretation of these regulations is being discussed with Surrey Trading Standards who are the Primary Authority for Fair Trading under which this regulation resides. If the discussion results in different interpretation, then AIME will issue an update to Members.

The Guidance Document also covers the provision of helpline numbers.
